Feverfew - Magic Single
*Currently Available at the Farmstand!
The teeniest of daisy-like blooms grow in clusters of 6-8 and bring all the bees to the garden! They add a nostalgic, cottage-garden feel when planted in groups of 5 around the yard, or pops of dimension to empty spots.
These flowers are also lovely filler for bouquets and dry very well for everlasting arrangements.
Growing Tips:
Plant Information: Full sun, 30-40” tall, 24” spread, tender perennial.
Seedling Care & Planting Tips: Keep seedlings moist and in partial sun until planting. Fertilize once a week with an organic liquid fertilizer. Plant in a sunny spot, 6-9” apart. Work lots of compost and organic fertilizer into the planting hole and water well before planting. Put root ball into the hole and bury it up to the first set of leaves. Water deeply once a week.
In the Garden: Add these cuties into almost any spot to fill in gaps. They’ll provide movement and dimension to borders. Groups of 5 make a nice impact.
In the Vase: Cut your first stem when the blooms on the spray are 50% open. Cut the central stem first (deeper down than you’d think!) leaving 6-8 sets of leaves on the plant. Nice long stems will emerge from this deep cut, providing even more cut-flower blooms in the following weeks. Strip off excess foliage, cut on an angle and let them rest and re-hydrate for a few hours in cool water and shade before arranging. Lovely as a filler flower. Dries nicely.
